        - 512MB Free RAM

      - After downloading and accepting the license agreement a volume will be mounted to your desktop which will open a window.
        - Drag the Total Recall Data Recovery Icon over to the applications folder to install.

        * DO NOT *

install Total Recall on a disk that has deleted files or data that you need recovered as it can overwrite that very data you may want.

Registering the Software:

At any point, you can activate your copy of Total Recall by entering the key that was provided during purchase. A single-user license of Total Recall can only be used on one computer at a time. Once you enter your activation code, this computer will register itself with the Activation Server and be authorized to save the files. To keep dishonest people from sharing my software, and to prevent piracy, in order to use the software on another computer you'll have to de-authorize the current computer before you can save from the other. To manage your licenses, login to your account at https://www.totalrecall.com/datarecoverysoftware/account. Want to save data from multiple computers?  Site licenses offer greater flexibility. Ask support for details about site licenses.
If you have an Activation Key you can enter the activation key after opening Total Recall Data Recovery on the left side of the window under Software registration.

IMPORTANT! You must click the 'greater than' button (see the illustration with the button circled in red) in order to complete your activation! You will not leave demo mode until you do this.

* NOTE *

If you do not have a Activation/Registration key you can still run Total Recall Data Recovery in Demo mode, which will allow you to use most features but not save any recovered data.

Running the software:

From the applications folder open Total Recall Data Recovery
Choose the Desired recovery Module on the left hand side
From there each recovery module has different recovery options

Total Recall Offers 6 Different Types of Scans for the type of data loss problem you are experiencing.

Drive/Disk

Recovers data from an entire drive/device

Partition

Will recover a single partition, but, looks for all partitions on the drive when the one you want to recover is not initially listed. In other words, if the name of the device you want to scan is not listed, then running this scheme will present you with a list of all the partitions found and you can then select the one (or more) to scan for data. This is an advanced feature.

Deleted Files

Recovers just deleted files.

RAID

Recovers files on a RAID system

Photos

For camera cards and similar types of storage devices and even photos deleted on a local/external hard drive.

iPod

Recovers songs, pictures, and files that are deleted from an iPod.

Drive Selection and Scan Type

If it's an external item

    - Power the device off
      - Disconnect it
        - Turn it on, then reconnect it.
          - Quit Total Recall and restart. Your item should now be in the list.

If it's not, then it's time to contact us for professional data recovery service, as your item may be physically bad and Total Recall can't recover from the item if its physically broken.

Once you have selected the drive that you want to recover, you have the option to customize the search by specifying the file type and the maximum file size in your recovery.

File Type

You can select multiple types of file types that can be recovered, by selecting the check boxes next to the desired name.

File Size

At the bottom of the window you can change the maximum file size to recover. Select the drop down menu and change the maximum file size to what you want.

New File Type

You can add different file types that may not appear on the default search for the recovery process.

Saving Files

Once your drive has been searched and the recovered files appear, select the files that you wish to recover and save.
Now all you have to do is click 'Save Selected Files' and you're done! Be sure to have a place to save your data, and DO NOT try to save the data the same place you're recovering it from! This concludes the guide. I'll add more as the program changes, or you all make suggestions or need clarification of an item.

Previewing Files

If you would like to preview the files before you save them, you can select the little icon at the top of the Total Recall window.
